Our Founders

The journey began with two brothers, Mithat and Mehmet Çanakcı. They launched the Çanakcılar Group of Companies in 1963 in a small workshop and gathered thousands under Çanakcılar’s roof. They handed over Creavit, one of Turkey’s most environmentally and nature-friendly companies, to the second generation of their family and the professional managers. Creavit has been the leading innovative brand in its industry ever since. It operates with over a thousand employees in 65 countries on five continents with over half a century of experience designing aesthetic, healthy, and environmentally friendly products.

We bring our wide range of bathroom and wet area products, including ceramic sanitary ware, bathroom furniture, and faucets, to consumers in Turkey and over 65 countries. Creavit takes pride in earning consumers’ trust worldwide, sharing their happiest moments, and being a part of their home’s heart, the bathroom.

We’ve sought the best for our consumers since the 1960s and continue improving ourselves as we strive toward the future. Creavit’s most vital driver in this journey is, without a doubt, the hardworking people of our country, our advanced technology-backed manufacturing capacity, and our design and innovation power that helped us fulfill our commitment to quality manufacturing for our consumers.

Both the Gökçebey manufacturing facility, one of the largest single-site facilities in the industry with a 200,000 m² indoor manufacturing area, and the Devrek facility on 80,000 m² are the birthplaces of internationally awarded products.

We shape our principle of creating the best and most aesthetically pleasing products for our consumers with life-changing innovation and integrate the outcoming designs into bathrooms to provide a comfortable atmosphere for a more enjoyable bathroom experience.

Since our establishment, we’ve also adopted a sense of responsibility toward the environment. We are the first company to convert waste heat into energy, and we are proud to reflect this environmental awareness in our products.

We design our products to save on water since we manufacture them for bathrooms, accounting for the highest volume of water used daily. In addition to our water-efficient products, we have created a botanical garden in our facilities to cherish and appreciate nature. We urge you, for a sustainable future, a clean environment, and an inhabitable world, “Don’t Take Water For Granted!”

CHAIR OF ÇANAKCILAR GROUP OF COMPANIES

HAKAN ÇANAKCI

Could the two Çanakcı brothers have known that their small mosaic squat toilet manufacturing workshop in 1963 would grow to become one of the world’s largest vitrified bathroom products manufacturers exporting to over 65 countries?

Before I get to that, I’d like to point out that the masterpiece of that workshop was a manufacturing philosophy that valued discipline in business, dared to take risks to grow and advance, focused on employment, and envisioned quality service for all customers.

This philosophy of the Çanakcı family involves structured preparation for the future and taking the proper steps at the right time with the awareness that we have to step up our work each time to lead the industry. Indeed, this perspective stemmed from the business ethics and branding in that tiny workshop, which established face-to-face relations with customers and inspected each product down to the last detail. Any products or financial accomplishments aside, becoming a reliable and timely manufacturer and catching up with the progress have been the highest priorities of our brand since the early days in that workshop.

As Çanakcılar Group of Companies, we are confident in our future, relying on our 60-year experience and strong corporate culture. Building on our past to stay relevant, we carry our strong culture into the future to continue to create value, earn our business partners’ trust and offer consumers quality and comfortable experiences. My confidence in our capacity to move with the times comes from my colleagues’ determination to uphold the Çanakcı manufacturing philosophy. I firmly believe we will reach even further with a solid corporate culture, motivation from excelling at one’s job, and happiness in touching people’s lives.

It remains our priority to extend the reach of Creavit further, already decorating wet areas in over 65 countries. With that in mind, we offer quality service in cooperation with our business partners. We are proud to introduce such exquisite services to the world brought about by Turkey’s dynamism. While we are indeed happy with how far we’ve come, we imagine even further ahead into the future, like every single employee at Creavit, and aim to fully catch up with the times to become the top bathroom supplier in the world.

We want to give back to this country and nature by building a sustainable future. We prioritize establishing conscious environmental friendliness in all stages of our design and manufacturing activities. We design our future sustainably rather than through a vicious and careless splurge of production, consumption, and exhaustion. That is why we safeguard the lasting memories of the days long past at the Çanakcı Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum and align our manufacturing with the environment’s needs, adopting the utmost environmental sensitivity in production and consumption to build a greener future. We continuously improve through R&D and innovatively and efficiently advance our brand positioning to keep pace with the times and to be the first choice of more and more people through the Çanakcı manufacturing philosophy.

I want to thank all our employees who have helped us move with the times and served Creavit as part of our large family and have added value to people’s lives and our brand, embodying the manufacturing philosophy of Çanakcı; to our customers, who have trusted and preferred us; and to our investors and business partners for choosing to accompany us on this journey. Now, to answer that question at the beginning. I believe the dreams in that tiny workshop that created such a foresighted philosophy must've gone beyond all our current goals.

Kind regards,
